Playing the long game has always been one of Mike McCranie’s strengths. He has a knack for approaching strategies and challenges from a global perspective, while keeping an eye out for continuous improvement.
A transparent and honest leader, Mike knows the route to results starts with your team, so his focus is on the big picture and the people. It’s this invaluable approach to problem-solving that makes him the perfect fit as our Chief Information Officer.
For 20 years, Mike led technology teams through major transformations for businesses from mid-size to multinational. Before joining Interstate, he most recently served as the Chief Information Officer for Serta Simmons Bedding, North America’s largest mattress maker. Mike stabilized their overall technology environment, and under his direction, the company optimized IT costs and introduced security, compliance and service management protocols.
A Texas transplant, Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Georgia College and serves on the IT Advisory Board for his alma mater. While serving as an ambassador for and advocate of organizations like TechBridge, Women In Technology and Year Up, Mike shares his philosophy for delivering with excellence and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Mike names transparency as his eighth value* and asserts that focusing on people and their needs allows one to be more transparent: “When we talk together, you get nothing but me.”
Fun Fact: Mike’s whole family are fans of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and are looking forward to rooting for their favorite team from afar – especially against those Texas Longhorns.
