Semper Fi & America’s Fund: Together, We’re Empowering Hope and Healing

Julian Torres

Supporting Veterans with Adaptive Vehicles

Adaptive vehicles can be a significant financial burden for veterans and service members.

That’s why Interstate Batteries® has partnered with Semper Fi and America’s Fund® to empower our nation’s critically wounded, ill and injured veterans and their families with what Interstate does well: reliable transportation.

“Transportation is an often overlooked but essential part of achieving a high quality of independence for combat-wounded, injured or ill service members and veterans,” Karen Guenther, founder, president and CEO of Semper Fi & America’s Fund, said. "We are grateful for Interstate Batteries commitment to help us provide lifetime support to our service members, veterans and military families.”

With a donation and raising awareness of the charity through NASCAR and social media, we hope to empower others to support The Fund to help those with adaptive vehicle needs and repairs.

"At Interstate Batteries, our values include love and servant's heart. We are honored to partner with Semper Fi & America's Fund to help provide critical transportation assistance to wounded veterans and their families, and to raise awareness of the important work this organization does."

Cars with adaptive modifications to support drivers with disabilities can cost up to $80,000, according to estimates from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Whatever their cost, these adaptive vehicles and the difference they make for service members and veterans is priceless.

"Being able to re-learn how to drive wouldn't have been possible without the assistance from The Fund. That independence empowered me to be able to take my son to his first little league practice. When we got there, I was so moved with emotions. No one has to drive me. I don't have to ask someone.""

Helping Wounded Service Members Since 2003

Semper Fi & America’s Fund was started in 2003 by military spouses to provide bedside support to wounded and injured service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Operated today by those same military spouses, The Fund cares for our nation’s critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans and military families. The Fund is also one of only three veteran nonprofits to receive an A+ rating from CharityWatch, making it one of the nation’s most trusted charities.
